Our Journey
Year 1
In Aug 2022, I completed the Autism Spectrum Disorder Graduate Certificate from the Department of Special Education, School of Education and Human Science, the University of Kansas KU, USA (Wow! That was a mouthful).
I used the website that I had created as a running project during the KU course as the starting point of this website. I swapped the course numbers for descriptive names and placed the pages under the "Learn about Autism" tab, added a homepage and provisions to book online consultations. Voilà! the website was ready for use.

I launched MAMA
(Managing Autism with Mothers and Aunties)
on 5th of December 2022. I sent out links of my newly formed Instagram account and website to all my WhatsApp contacts.
On Instagram I shared videos of Musa learning different skills at home.
Initially, MAMA was an online consultation platform for Autism diagnosis. With every diagnostic evaluation, I also provided home educational plans.
MAMA (Managing Autism with Mothers and Aunties) was registered as an SMC-Pvt limited company on 2nd June 2023 under SECP Pakistan.
By Allah's planning I found myself at Momentous School, PWD, Rawalpindi giving a talk on "All things Autism".
I took a deep dive into Gestalt Language Processing. You can find me on the Communication Development Center, NLA SLP Registry.

My first scientific paper on Autism got published. الحمدللہ. I co-authored it with Dr. Glennda McKeithan, my dear mentor and friend from KU. Dr. Glennda encouraged me to start researching and held my hand till the paper got published.

I announced on Instagram that I was starting in-person consults and الحمدللہ the ball started rolling.
Year two (2024) wrap up:

Year 1
I attended online summits on Child-led therapy and sensory support. The more I learned about neuro-affirming care, the more I found the name of my company cringy. I was certainly not managing my kid's Autism. I was supporting him with utmost love, respect and patience; so.....
On 10th June, 2025 I officially got the name of my company changed from
Managing Autism with Mothers and Aunties (SMC-Private) Limited to
Mindfully Supporting Autistics with Mothers and Aunties (SMC-Private) Limited.
The acronym remains the same i.e. MAMA. The name of the company had initially stemmed from the acronym. It took Musa 7 years to start calling me "MAMA" spontaneously. 7 long long silent years. But he has now, surely, more than made up for those "MAMAless" years. الحمدللہ.
